To bid on this painting click the diaper below.Part of this guy is a return to something that I painted many many times when I was working in pastel . . . dollar bills. Although this one has none of the details of some of the older pieces that I did, it still brought back memories. Also I had to paint one of the bizarre polar bear coke cans that were out this season . . . though it has really never for any sustained time felt like winter so maybe they should of held on to those guys for next year.

To bid on this painting click the diaper below.Something a bit different in that I used such a stark and graphic based background. I recently was out shopping and saw a bunch of these California 70's bowling shirts with these wild color patterns on them and thought they might make an interesting background for a portrait. So this is my first experiment with them. It was a bright day when I took this photo so the blue just seemed natural to start with.

To bid on this painting click the diaper below.I sometimes come across a severe case of writer's block whilst setting up still lifes to paint. This happened to be one of those times. Nothing looked right to me . . . and for a usually even keeled personality it can be maddening. It truly is one of the only circumstances in my life which really gets me going. I've, in the privacy of my own studio, found myself throwing brushes, tubes of paint, kicking easels, tossing panels across the room to vent my frustration at my inability to sit down and paint. Though it did not come to blows this time . . . sitting and looking at my easel, I began to wad up this used piece of sketch pad (my little stress ball) and it hit me. Paint exactly what I was feeling! Here you have it, my frustration.

To bid on this painting click the diaper below.I've painted this little lady a couple of times now. I love her colors and her unusual shape. The fun of this was not so much painting her but getting those darn crayons to sit on top of her head (just between you and me. . . . a little bit of masking tape goes a long way:)
