Painting people walking on the beach is one of my favorites, but not for the nostalia of the ocean or the longing to go back on vacation (although both of those are very nice), its all about the water. The water changes everything. On a bright clear day the ocean and the puddles left by it are like thousands of little mirrors shooting light everywhere, but on an overcast day the water does something all together different. It swings from the blues into the violets and greens due to the sand underneath, and don't even get me started on the reflections that the people walking on it cast, 1000's and 1000's of paintings could be done from the same ocean scene all because of that wild mysterious liquid that laps back and forth on a beach.
