"My Favorite Fleece" May Issue of The Artist's Magazine

This was a demo that I did for the 'test drive' article that is featured in the May issue of The Artist's Magazine. The piece was painted with 5 tubes of Jack Richeson's Shiva paint for reasons that you can find in the article here. Suffice to say it was a challenge but a wonderful learning experience for me on how to make the most out a very limited palette. The article contains step by step shots of this paintings creation as well as some technical ins and outs for you painters out there. I've painted myself dozens of times and I guess from one perspective you could say I must be a bit hung up on myself, but it's more of this is the cheapest model I could find and I don't need to look at him any more than necessary:) Which is why this painting is up for sale. Have a look at the article either in print or on The Artists Network website, and please let me know if my writing was close to understandable!

#363 Just A Slice

A little plum study that is very similar to a series of pieces that I am painting for a project set up by a local art organization. A CSA (Community Supported Arts) program in which shares can be bought by individuals that get you a basket, similar to farm CSA's (Community Supported Agriculture), but instead of fruits and veggies, you get small pieces of art. 50 total shares are available, 9 artists, 50 pieces of art from each artist to make the 50 baskets. So since I'm neck deep in 4x4 studies I thought I'd paint some extras and put them on DPW.

#362 "The Evil I"

I picked this little fella at a local store unwanted and on clearance, which I find to be the best place to acquire things of interest to paint. Figuring out how to paint him was a bit of a challenge but whilst cleaning up a few other still life setups with blocks in them the 'I' hopped out of my hand onto the table and asked me to find him a dance partner. So here it is, in all it's evilness:)
